Here at Northern Soul we offer customers a wide variety of lacrosse goals and always try to understand how you'll be using a goal in order to suggest the best option for you. There is a big difference between wanting a goal in your garden, needing something portable or having the full game legal goals for your club, school or university.
If you are lucky enough to have the space in your garden to have a goal then you can't go wrong with the full size backyard goal, this comes with a 3mm net but there is always the option to upgrade to the heavier 6mm. Many years ago as a teenager I wanted a lacrosse game in my parents garden. Not so easy to buy a lacrosse goal 30 years ago but this would have been ideal to slide down the side of our shed when not in use, the folding goal.
Players and coaches sometimes require a more portable lacrosse goal, something easy to set up and carry to a field, fold down and sling in the back of a car (just experienced flashbacks of various cars I owned full of smelly lacrosse equipment and wet lacrosse nets. The first "portable" goal I had back then was something short of crap. When I finally managed to get a Ragecage not long after they hit the market around 20 years ago things became so much easier as it folded so easily and took less than a minute to set up with the net on the pipes, I must have been saving 6/7 minutes set up and 6/7 minutes breakdown. Ragecage goals may not be cheap but they are worth every penny.
The choice and level of goals that Ragecage offer is vast. My own club is lucky enough to own a set of the V6 Pro goals which meets World Lacrosse specification for an official flat bottom lacrosse goal. It weighs 100 lbs. Rage Cage Pro is intended for Professional level competition, it also comes complete which their patented Rage Cage Pro net is ultra-strong. Rage Cage Pro nets have a 6mm net. They Rage Cage Pro goals might well be the best field equipment my club had in the 35 years I've played there, the fact these goals found up makes storing them when not is use super easy.
If you are shopping for competition level goals with flat bottom pipes then you need to except that they'll not come cheap but you need to view them as an investment. The nets themselves might well need replacing over time but good quality goal frames with last for ages. This pair of WL compliant goals are great value for what you get. Easy to put together but worth spending some time to tie up the nets correctly.
Not all clubs are able or want to leave their goals on the field so save yourself the pain or carrying goals with the goal mover.
