Can I wear my field lacrosse gear to play Box lacrosse?

For outfield players there is a far amount of crossover in terms of the protective equipment as the same gloves can be worn and shoulder pads. We would only recommend wearing full length arm guards not shorter lacrosse arm pads and would also say that bicep pads and kidney pads are essential items.

Where can I play Box lacrosse in the UK?

Although Box lacrosse is growing across the UK, it is still very much in the early days of the sport. There are a handful of tournaments and leagues but all teams are open to new players to register their interest in playing.

What kind of lacrosse handle should I use to play Box lacrosse?

There are a number of Box specific lacrosse handles on the market but there are also heavy weight field handles that are perfectly suited to play box such as the heavier weight Stringking lacrosse handles.

Do you have to wear a specific helmet to play Box lacrosse?

The short answer is no. Most players will use their field lacrosse helmet when they first get in to playing Box, if they enjoy this version of lacrosse then they will often invest in a Box lacrosse helmet.

Are my field lacrosse rib pads ok to use in box?

At first yes but ideally you should invest in box kidney pads as they offer more protection and importantly more spine coverage from hits from behind.
